Traffic Case Records in Geary County
Start with two lines on the citation: the issuing agency and the court. State tickets are filed in the county where the violation occurred. They can appear in Kansas CaseSearch under District and Geary County (GE). The Geary District Court clerk keeps the state traffic and fish-and-game files. Junction City runs its own citation lookup. Grandview Plaza publishes a payment form but no public event index. Milford publishes no current municipal docket portal at all.
A traffic case record may list the citation, the charge, the first appearance date, later settings, the plea, the disposition, the fine, the costs, and payment status. The Geary docket PDF can help with settings. Treat it as a reference only, since it may lag behind a recent reset. The court named on the citation is still the place to confirm a date.
Geary Traffic Filings by Number
How busy is this docket? The Kansas Judicial Branch's FY2025 table reports 1,964 Geary traffic filings. That figure is a fiscal-year workload total. It is not a list of drivers. It says nothing about how any single ticket ended. It does explain why narrow search terms matter, and why a brand-new filing can take time to show up.
Municipal matters are counted separately, through municipal reporting. So a county total cannot tell you whether Junction City, Grandview Plaza, Milford, or the state District Court holds one given citation.
Geary County Traffic Ticket Lookups
For a state case, open Kansas CaseSearch, pick District, select Geary County (GE), and use Citation Number when you have it. A permitted case-number or party search works as the fallback. When the web result is missing or lacks a document, the courthouse terminal, the clerk's phone, the counter, mail, fax, and a written court-record request all remain open to you.
- Read the court address and phone on the citation.
- For a state ticket, search CaseSearch by citation number.
- For Junction City, use the municipal lookup with its required fields.
- For Grandview Plaza or Milford, contact the city custodian when no docket search is published.
- Call or visit the issuing court if a new citation has not posted.
- Record the response date, setting, and exact case status.
Kansas Traffic Payment Is Separate
The Eighth District traffic instructions lay out the local response path for Geary County tickets. The page sends eligible payments to the Central Payment Center. Want to contest instead? It tells you to call the filing court by the date printed on the citation. That call is the one hard step.

Diversion questions go to the county attorney, per the same court page. And an online payment button never proves you are eligible to pay.
Traffic Court Dates in Geary County
The date printed on a state ticket is a due date, not a hearing. No scheduled fine appears? The Eighth District says to call the court before that date arrives. Run the CaseSearch citation field and check the Geary docket PDF. Then verify with the clerk. A continuance may not yet be reflected in the PDF.
| Citation Number | The ticket identifier; Junction City instructs users to add TT before its number. |
|---|---|
| Court | The District Court or named municipal court that received the filing. |
| Date and Time | The due date, appearance, arraignment, trial, or later setting. |
| Location | The court or courtroom listed for the setting. |
| Status | Pending, paid, disposed, continued, or another court-entered status. |
Central Payment Center Fields
The Kansas Central Payment Center takes eligible traffic, criminal, juvenile-offender, and fish-and-game payments. Its landing page shows the fields you will fill in, but remember this is a payment service, not a Geary County traffic docket search.

Mail payments go to PO Box 750200, Topeka, KS 66675-0200 with the party name, case number, and county. In-person payments route through the specific court.
Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It
Paying and fighting a ticket are not two routes to the same place. Follow the instructions of the court that issued it. The Eighth District says a person contesting a state ticket must call the filing court by the ticket date to request a trial setting. Extension questions go to that same court.
| Paying the Ticket | Contesting the Ticket |
|---|---|
| Resolves an eligible amount through the court's accepted channel. | Requests a trial setting from the filing court. |
| Must be handled by the date on the ticket unless the court grants an extension. | The Eighth District says to call by the date on the ticket. |
| May be online, mailed, or in person, depending on the court. | Starts with the issuing court, not the payment vendor. |
Do not ignore the response date: The Eighth District warns that failure to address a state ticket can lead to license suspension under K.S.A. 8-2110 and lists a $122 reinstatement fee per count for a Kansas driver. Contact the filing court promptly.
Geary Traffic Costs Depend on Channel
For a state case, court costs are added on top of the scheduled fine. One ticket with more than one violation carries one set of court costs, the Eighth District says. Fees differ by vendor and channel. The Central Payment Center posts a 5% card convenience fee with a $1 minimum. It also lists a $1 eCheck fee. The Geary clerk's separate in-office card notice states 2.39%. Those numbers do not swap between channels.
A city citation follows the city's own published schedule or clerk instruction. Junction City's official fine schedule flags some matters as mandatory court. Grandview Plaza's first payment screen posts no vendor fee. Assume no amount until the city confirms one.
Two Records: Court File and Driver File
Two different files exist here. The court traffic record is the case file behind a citation, and it is separate from the state driver record. The driver file sits with the state licensing agency, and you request it through that agency's own process.
| Court Traffic Record | Driver Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept By | District or municipal court clerk | Kansas licensing agency |
| Shows | Citation, settings, plea, disposition, fine, and costs | Licensing status and reportable driving entries |
| How to Get It | Court lookup, terminal, or clerk request | State driver-record request channel |
Which Geary Traffic Clerk Answers
For a state citation, call the Geary District Court at 785-762-5221. Diversion questions go to the Geary County Attorney at 785-762-4343, per the Eighth District traffic page. Junction City handles its own matters through its Municipal Court page and citation portal. Grandview Plaza routes court payments through its city link. Milford's City Clerk is the fallback where no municipal portal is published.
Note: the court named on the ticket is the best source for a fresh filing, a moved setting, or an extension request.
Traffic Record Copy Fees
Copies of state traffic cases follow the Geary District Court clerk's local policy. Ask for the specific citation, event, order, or disposition, and say whether you want a plain or certified copy. A municipal record follows that city's own fee and request process.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary copies, 1 to 4 pages | $1.00 minimum | Geary District Court policy |
| Each page after four | $0.25 | Added to the minimum |
| Research or clerical work | $12.00 per hour minimum | Plus copy charge; prepayment may apply |
Geary Traffic Payment Boundaries
Paying a ticket online is not the same as reading a Geary County traffic court record. The Kansas Central Payment Center takes eligible payments for traffic, criminal, juvenile-offender, and fish-and-game cases. But a transaction shows none of the docket history. No journal entry, no full event record. Check that the citation qualifies before you pay, and follow whatever court is named on the ticket. Contesting works differently than paying. The Eighth District tells drivers who want to fight a state ticket to enter a not-guilty plea by the deadline and get a court date. Skip that hearing and the stakes climb fast. A warrant, added costs, or license trouble can follow. If the portal cannot match your citation, the amount is unclear, or the court date has already passed, call the Geary traffic branch at 785-762-5221. Municipal citations are a separate track. Tickets from Junction City, Grandview Plaza, and Milford go through each named city court, unless an official notice says otherwise.
